Cedar Creek falls is a picturesque place that makes a great day out for the whole family. It is located on the ascent up Mount Tamborine from Tamborine Village. Cedar Creek Falls offers a range of abilities for the whole family. There are picnic areas, public toilets and lookouts. The walkway to the first lookout and picnic grounds is bitumen so it’s suitable for strollers and has wheelchair accessibility. There are stairs for the rest of the path down to the rock pools and falls.
Along the walk to the waterfall, you will come across viewing platforms where you can stop for a breath and take in the amazing views. The track slopes downwards gently towards a fork where you stick left for another viewing platform. Continue until the tracks re-join and continue your downward walk through the dry rain-forest taking in the views.
When visiting, remember to bring your togs as the end of the walking track offers visitors a dip in the three rock pools between the rushing waterfalls. The rocks can be slippery and steep to get to the rock pools so it is recommended to bring reef creepers or sturdy footwear. It is prohibited to jump into the rock pools due to submerged rocks and other hazards.
Follow the same walking track back to return to the car park. On the return journey take the left road at the fork to shorten your uphill journey. Once back in the car park continue up the mountain by car to a local Mount Tamborine café for lunch or pack a picnic lunch to enjoy in the picnic area with the wildlife.
