The Hervey Bay Conrodders Hot Rods have been supporting the Cancer council foundation for the last three years. Sue Dodd started the association with the whole charity because she had lost several family and friends to Cancer “it’s just a personal thing she does to give back to those in need”.
Sue takes part in the Relay for life that happens every year, her team name is Fast Furious and Fabulous. Relay for Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support services. There are at least forty different teams raising money in many different ways.
Sue Dodd and her husband also run a car show. Sue does a car show every year and attends other car meets. This is another way they raise money for the Cancer Foundation. Sue says it is free entry for the public but she charges $5 per car for the show. They also get fundraising from selling flags so that the public can vote for a car in the people’s choice competition with all moneys again going to charities. If you would like to see her cars, she will be attending the nationals soon in Maryborough at the show grounds in the Easter long weekend. Sue has also done car washes in the past to raise funds but would rather stick to doing the formal car hire and car show.
Sue also arranges for people to hire the club’s cars for formals particularly year twelve formals. Sue advertises 4 main cars for school formals.
If your needing a formal car, you can book a car with Sue on her Facebook page (Conrodders Hot Rod & Customs Hervey Bay or give her a call on 0418265222 or you can go on the website and have a look on their website http://www.conroddersherveybay.com.au Sue charges approximately $150 for her cars to be hired. All the funds go to the Cancer Foundation.
