Making a place for your friendly garden bees is a great way to keep the bees in your garden safe and pollinating your flowers.
You’ll need: Plywood, screws, bamboo, wood offcuts and small logs
- Assemble the ply box if required. You will need 4 pieces for the sides, 1 piece for the back and screws. Use plywood as it is durable and will last for years.
- Cut all pieces of wood, bamboo and logs to the same length.
- Drill holes of different depths and size into the logs and wood offcuts.
- Sand the edges of the drill holes to ensure there are no rough edges.
- Arrange the different pieces of wood in the box.
- Set the box upright in a sunny spot in the garden near your nectar-rich flowers.
- Enjoy your friendly garden bees
